1.  If elected, how would your government encourage more business investment, job creation, and higher wages in British Columbia?

Support free-enterprise economy. We believe that a competitive free-enterprise economy with the right to private property are essential to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit that creates prosperity
The Conservative Party of British Columbia is looking forward to bringing back innovation, competition and common sense spending to the province. We will continue to stand up for strong, healthy economies and fair wages for workers as we have always done.

2.  How would your government address the rising cost of living, to make life more affordable in the Tri-Cities and throughout the province?

By exempting up to $3,000 a month in housing costs from provincial income taxes and axe the carbon tax. Wasteful spending should be cut and the savings returned to taxpayers.

3.  What is your party's priority with respect to addressing the labour challenges we face today?

Make housing more affordable. The Rustad Rebate is a real solution to help families stay in their homes, support the middle class, and provide relief to those being squeezed by high housing prices and rents.

4.  What are your party's vision and priorities for the transportation infrastructure and public transit service in the Tri-Cities?

Our party recognizes the importance of a well-functioning transportation infrastructure and reliable public transit service in the Tri-Cities. We believe these are key components in supporting growth, sustainability, and accessibility. These are complex challenges which requires the guidance of professionals and experts in transportation planning. Our focus would be to work collaboratively with municipal leaders and specialists in the field to develop and implement effective solutions that meet the community's needs, rather than offering specific promises without the right expertise.

5.  If elected, how will you work with industry to help establish frameworks that enable both economic and environmentally sustainable growth?

A) Expand LNG

  • A CPBC government will expand BC’s natural gas production and LNG export facilities through the displacement of coal-fired electricity countries like China.

B) Get Pipelines Built

  •  Pipelines are the safest and most economical means of transporting oil and natural gas and are essential in getting our resources to market.
  •  The construction of pipelines, including TMX, Coastal GasLink and Northern Gateway, deserve our complete support.

6.  What would you do to help the homeless throughout the Tri-Cities, and in particular those camped at or near businesses, impacting the business owners' ability to stay in operation?

Homelessness is a deeply complex issue that has affected communities for decades and is only getting worse.  A good start is looking at BC Housing’s Response to the 3030 Gordon Avenue Shelter and supportive housing review from August 2023 and looking at their recommendations. The three Tri-Cities have asked the NDP for support by asking for immediate implementation of all recommendations which the NDP has refused to do anything about. I would work with the city of Port Coquitlam and push for the immediate implementation of these recommendations. It's critical that we address this issue collaboratively, as the current inaction by the NDP is only exacerbating the problem. By working together, we can begin to find solutions that balance the needs of the homeless population with the concerns of local businesses and the broader community.

7.  What changes would you implement to improve healthcare?

Reduce Administrative Burden: In addition to eliminating excess administration, we will implement modern tools and technologies to allow healthcare providers more time with patients.

Repeal the Health Professions and Occupations Act (Bill C-36): Remove ideology and political control imposed by the NDP.
