Tri-Cities Chamber statement: 2024 BC General Election initial results

(TRI-CITIES) October 21, 2024 — The Tri-Cities Chamber thanks all candidates who stood for election in the five ridings within our region, and looks forward to working with the newly elected and re-elected candidates.

Elections BC's initial results show the NDP has won the Tri-Cities, with newly elected MLAs Jodie Wickens for Coquitlam–Burke Mountain and Jennifer Blatherwick for Coquitlam–Maillardville, and re-elected MLAs Mike Farnworth (Port Coquitlam), Rick Glumac (Port Moody–Coquitlam) and Jennifer Whiteside (New Westminster–Coquitlam).

Election BC's final count begins on Saturday, October 26.

"The Tri-Cities Chamber looks forward to working with our newly elected and re-elected representatives on issues that matter to business," said Leslie Courchesne, CEO, Tri-Cities Chamber. "We need a stable government that can deliver reductions in regulatory burdens, red tape, and the cost of doing business, to ensure our economy thrives and our local communities flourish."
