(TRI-CITIES) August 23, 2022 — Tri-Cities Chamber CEO Leslie Courchesne joined a meeting hosted by the BC Chamber of Commerce with Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Sean Fraser. Attended by 40 leaders of chambers of commerce and boards of trade from across BC, the discussion focused on immigration application wait times, the labour shortage, foreign credential recognition, and immigrant settlement services. Following the meeting, Minister Fraser announced actions to address the immigration backlogs to fill vacant positions and help businesses grow.
The conversation followed up on issues raised at the Tri-Cities Chamber roundtable with Minister Fraser in April, 2022.
