Shop Local Port Moody – About Us

About Us

Local and community-based to the core.

Shop Local Port Moody's mission is to ensure that we support local, independent businesses. By doing so, we strengthen our community and keep it unique "to the core" by shopping locally.

Preserving Port Moody's unique mix of businesses.

Shop Local Port Moody (SLPM) is a membership-based initiative that represents the interest of local, independent businesses in Port Moody. Founded in 2012, our mandate is to work to increase consumer awareness about the importance of shopping locally and how it strengthens our community. In addition to this we also strive to be a voice of local business to the local government.

Guided by a volunteer steering committee of Port Moody business owners, SLPM is powered by the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce and passionate members. We have a variety of main initiatives throughout the year to encourage shopping/supporting local:

  • National Small Business Week (October)
  • BC Shop Local Week (November/December Holiday Shopping Season)
  • Taste of the Tri-Cities (February 15 to March 15)
  • Shop Hop – Shop Local Port Moody (Spring)
  • Port Moody's Car-Free Day (August), and more!
