The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, along with more than 250 organizations representing hundreds of thousands of businesses across Canada, is calling on the federal government to extend the repayment deadline for CEBA loans for businesses. The group jointly signed an open letter to Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland today.

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce issued the following statement in response to the tentative four-year agreement to end the labour disruption at British Columbia’s ports.

“The repercussions of this strike to Canada’s international reputation, let alone the $10 billion disruption in trade, will have impacts felt for years to come.

Our joint letter, addressed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, urges the government to take action to reconvene Parliament and pass back-to-work legislation, immediately.
