Catherine Polonio, Coquitlam Florist

Chamber Member of the Year

Catherine Polonio of Coquitlam Florist is an integral part of our local community and the Tri-Cities Chamber’s continued success. Catherine is a real-life example of someone who values leadership, integrity, service excellence, and innovation.

In 2017, Catherine executed two of the most difficult business maneuvers. First, she moved her location from Downtown Port Coquitlam to the Oxford Connector business area. Then, she expanded her business out to the Fraser Valley with the acquisition of Rosebay Floral. This growth led Catherine to rebrand Coquitlam Florist to match her whimsical imagination. The massive move, expansion, and rebrand were each executed remarkably.

While having the busiest year of her business career, Catherine still found the time to continue to be a community champion. She is one of the largest supporters of many community organizations, especially the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, donating her time and services.  Catherine’s beautiful designs can be seen at almost every signature event, including the arrangements on all of the tables today.

Coquitlam Florist has sponsored the Tri-Cities Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards, International Women’s Day, Golf Classic, Mayor’s BBQ, Nominees’ Luncheon, and Christmas Luncheon. The support the Chamber has received from Catherine over the years is instrumental.

Catherine’s giving doesn’t stop at the Tri-Cities Chamber. She is also a passionate supporter of ACCESS Youth Outreach Services, the Downtown Port Coquitlam BIA, and the Coquitlam Express Junior A Hockey Club.  Not only can she be seen at almost every home game, but she’s also been a billet mom for the Coquitlam Express for the past six years.

It is a pleasure to present Catherine Polonio with the award of 2017 Chamber Member of the Year.
