Press Release | Chamber hosts roundtable with the Honourable Minister of International Trade, Francois-Philippe Champagne

(Tri-Cities) March 15, 2018 – Yesterday, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable discussion with the Honourable Minister of International Trade, Francois-Phillippe Champagne, who was joined by MP Ron McKinnon (Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam) and MP Ken Hardie (Fleetwood-Port Kells).

The leaders engaged in a conversation with local businesses to learn about their international trade process and any struggles they face. This access provided local businesses with the opportunity to voice their concerns and connect with the key stakeholders directly.

“The Tri-Cities Chamber is proud to offer this type of access for our members,” says CEO, Michael Hind. “Businesses often struggle to connect with the right person to ensure their voice is heard. That’s where the Chamber comes in,” Hind continues, “we work hard to provide our members with access to key stakeholders and government officials. This roundtable discussion is an example of just that.”

30 businesses from across the region engaged in a dialogue to discuss the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and MERCOSUR and how it affects their business.

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce is a proactive network of business-minded individuals that are committed to acting as an accessible, visible, supportive and reciprocal resource to our members and the Tri-Cities at large, communicating their collective voice to help shape a prosperous business community.
