Chamber Invests Local with New Program

At the Chamber, we believe that strong business equals strong communities, which is why we’re looking to develop a program that encourages consumers to think local first when it comes to their spending habits.  Rather than travelling to another community or across the border, we want to encourage Tri-Cities residents to shop at, and use the services of, businesses in their own backyard.  By investing in our own community, we keep the Tri-Cities strong and thriving.

“We are hoping to develop a new program that will encourage people – shoppers, businesses, schools, governments and others – to make more of their purchases with local Tri-Cities businesses and to consider investing more of their charitable gifts in locally-managed and governed charitable organizations.
We believe that if more purchases are made from local businesses, we will have a stronger and more successful Tri-Cities business community. We also believe that investing in local charities, which support local people, will help us build strength in the Tri-Cities. Building a stronger local business community and building strength in local people who need our help is a winning combination.”

–  Martin Wyant, CEO SHARE Family & Community Services and Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee Chair

We are now accepting proposals from interested parties who have the ability to create an ‘Invest Local’ business plan.
