Let’s face it; most of you join the Chamber because you want more business. You want to network, you want opportunities to promote your business, to get in front of other business owners to let them know how you can help them. You want referrals.
It’s a very satisfying thing to be able to refer someone to our members and now it is easier than ever for us to send clients your way. When we launched our new website in April we got some great feedback about the design (thanks again to Anita from Technica Systems!) and some confusion about the new event registration system. Those changes were noticeable. But what you can’t see is that the website is completely integrated into our backend CRM, so when you update your business info in the Member Login section, it immediately updates your file in our database. But arguable the most powerful tool with the new system is the eReferral.
An eReferral is an email that we can send out to our members to let them know that someone is looking for a product or service that they may be able to provide. The simplest and fastest way for us to send eReferral is by business category. For example, recently someone contacted us looking for a Financial Advisor. We sent an eReferral to every business that was listed in the Financial Services category. The eReferral contains the contact information of the customer as well as a brief description of what they are looking for.
What do you do if you receive an eReferral? Well, if it sounds like a good lead and they are looking for a service that you can provide, call or email the customer directly. If it’s not a good fit, simply delete the email and carry on with your day. If you have questions or need more information, you can either call the customer or you can call me, although the customer probably knows more about what they want than I will.
The other side of being a Chamber member is remembering to support your fellow members by giving them your business when you can. If you are looking for a product or service in the Tri-Cities, I encourage you to check out our online Membership Directory first. Or call the office and we would be happy to help you find what you are looking for.
