On July 1, 2014, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation comes into effect. The CASL brings with it some of the toughest anti-spam laws in the world and will significantly impact how your business communicates electronically with your current and potential customers.

The idea of ‘consent’ is at the core of the legislation. Essentially, the recipient of your CEM (commerical electronic marketing) has to give you permission to contact him or her electronically. However, like most legislation, there are exceptions and situations where your electronic communication may not fall under CASL.

The failure to comply can result in fines up to $10 million! To ensure our members are complying with CASL and to help you navigate the muddy waters of new legislation, we’re hosting a CASL seminar on May 1st with Kinetix Media Communications, a full-service inbound marketing agency that works with manufacturing, financial services and retail businesses to achieve growth through strategic marketing and communications programs.
