Press Release | Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce CEO, Michael Hind Resigns as of July 2021
(TRI-CITIES) June 15, 2021 — Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce (TCC) CEO, Michael Hind, has submitted his resignation to the Board of Directors and will be leaving his position early to mid-July.
“Michael has served our Chamber exceptionally well for over 10 years, and we will miss him greatly,” said Mary Vellani, Board Chair of TCC. “We thank Michael for his tireless efforts in bringing the Chamber to where it is today and for skillfully navigating us through the pandemic.”
Michael’s contributions will have a lasting impact on the Tri-Cities Chamber. During his tenure, he led the creation of numerous projects that have strongly benefited our business community. Although the list is plenty, a few to highlight include the introduction of the Tri-Local initiative, the development of programs, such as Women in Business and the Tri-Cities Young Professionals, the office relocation, and championing the voice of Tri-Cities businesses in policy creation.
Under Michael’s leadership, the Chamber has also enhanced, as well as introduced, a countless number of highly anticipated events. These include the Mayors’ BBQ, Chamber Golf Classic, Christmas Luncheon, Economic Summit, Tradeshow, Chamber-led political debates, and more.
“This was a very difficult decision for me to make, but after nearly 11 wonderful years at the Chamber, I believe it is time for a change, both for me personally and the organization,” said Hind. “I would like to thank all of our members, our Board Members past and present, and the outstanding staff members that I have been able to work with over the years. There have been so many friendships formed over the years that I’m sure will continue and are treasured.”
“The Chamber is very well positioned coming out of the pandemic to build on the successes of the past and to better serve the local business community. With the excellent team members that we currently have in place, I have no doubt that the membership will remain very well taken care of.“
“It has been my absolute privilege and honour to serve the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce and the business community these past 11 years.”
Again, we thank Michael for his immeasurable contributions. We wish him continued happiness as he embarks on his new journey. His impact has been felt by many, and many will miss his presence greatly.
The Board of Directors will be searching for our next CEO in the upcoming weeks. We thank our members, partners, and stakeholders for their continued support of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.
