Statement | Reaction to Signing of new North America Trade Deal

The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce welcomes the signing of a new North American trade deal. The successor to NATFA, rebranded as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), will bring stability to our trade relationship with the United States and Mexico after a year of uncertainty.

The agreement maintains largely tariff-free access to a market of 450 million people and should lead to greater confidence and encourage entrepreneurs to invest in their businesses.

For a more detailed summary of the USMCA and how it affects Canadian business, we encourage you to read Business Development Bank of Canada’s economic letter.
