It’s time to start thinking about the holiday season.  Manic shopping trips to overcrowded malls.  Pine needles embedding themselves in the carpet.  Stuffing a turkey… and then stuffing yourself by eating the turkey.  You may or may not celebrate in some fashion this time of year, but the spirit of giving is always in the air.  In the Tri-Cities, our community has a history of banding together and giving back.  Take a look at these holiday events and see how you can give back this year:

Winter Clothing Drive
Port Moody Naturopathic
November 1-30
Bring your gently loved clothes to the clinic and be entered in a draw for a free Infrared Sauna Pack!

Be a Santa to a Senior
Home Instead Senior Care
Now through Christmas
Pick up an ornament from Christmas trees set up across the Tri-Cities, Maple Ridge, and New Westminster. The ornament will include the first name of a senior and their requested gift. Take an ornament, buy the items listed and return them unwrapped to the same location. These gifts will be collected, wrapped and delivered by dedicated volunteers in the week prior to Christmas.

Mr. Mike’s 5th Annual Toy Drive
Mr. Mike’s Coquitlam
Beginning November 26
Join Mr. Mike’s for the Launch Party ALL DAY on November 26th where their generous team will be donating all gratuities to the drive. Bring in a new unwrapped toy and receive a free appetizer. Last year’s drive brought in over 400 toys. Let’s beat that number this year!

Gift Wrap and SHARE Tree
Coquitlam Centre
November 26 – December 24
Have your gifts wrapped at Coquitlam Centre in return for a donation to SHARE’s Christmas programs! You can also leave a new, unwrapped toy for child under our tree. Last year, 2,215 children and youth were recipients of SHARE’s Christmas hampers. The Gift Wrap Booth and SHARE Tree are on the upper level between Aritzia and the Gap.
