Press Release | Tri-Cities Chamber Welcomes New CEO
(TRI-CITIES) July 28, 2021 — The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce (TCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Leslie Courchesne as our incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who will be starting her new role on August 18, 2021.
A seasoned leader with a proven track record in board operations, organizational leadership, policy and program development, as well as government and stakeholder relations, Courchesne brings more than 20 years of experience in the public sector with her.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Tri-Cities Chamber team as the next CEO,” says Leslie. “I am truly honoured to be chosen by the board for this role and know I have very big shoes to fill. The outgoing CEO, Michael Hind, has done a tremendous job over the past decade, working collaboratively to build the Chamber into what it is today, and fostering an incredible team. I look forward to building on this success and working on behalf of our member businesses.”
The former Executive Director, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Alumni Association and Director, Alumni Relations, BCIT, Courchesne has also held the roles of Executive Director, University Relations, and Director, Marketing and Communications with the University of the Fraser Valley, in addition to spending the first decade of her career in BC Government communications.
With a diverse background, Courchesne has a strong passion for building community and developing relationships around meaningful conversation. Having lived in Port Moody for the past 18 years with her husband and two children, Courchesne is eager to contribute to her community and support those living and working within the Tri-Cities.
She will work closely with the Chamber’s Board of Directors, members, government officials, and stakeholders to advocate for and prioritize the needs of the Tri-Cities business community.
“On behalf of the TCC Board of Directors, I am thrilled to welcome Leslie Courchesne as our new CEO,” said Mary Vellani, Chair of the TCC Board of Directors. “Leslie not only has extensive leadership experience, but she also brings a wealth of experience in marketing communications, strategic planning, and execution with her to this role. Leslie has been described by her employees as the ‘leader that most people wish they had’ and as someone who gets things done, executes with vision, and always sees the silver lining. We look forward to entering this exciting new chapter under Leslie’s sound leadership, which will further strengthen our Chamber as the voice of business in the Tri-Cities.”
The CEO search was led by the TCC Board of Directors and CEO Recruitment Committee.
